The new Right to Repair Bill helps avoid customers’ warranties from getting voided for seeking repairs from someplace besides the manufacturer. The RV Advisor Consumer Association (RVACA) supports the Right to Repair Bill that aims to provide the consumer with choices when it comes to allowing them to use any qualified repair facility.
There is recent legislation that states repairs should be able to be done wherever you want them to be. Trouble is, RVs may not be part of that new Right to Repair Bill, which was designed to help customers get vehicles, electronic equipment, and other costly items fixed at places solely besides manufacturer-approved retailers.
Why?
The Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) has been pushing to exclude RVs from that bill. When it comes to RVs, the RV Advisor Consumer Association supports allowing customers the right to choose anyone they want to get the repairs they need. RVACA is a charitable consumer advocacy group that has been helping RV owners for years.
RVACA’s goals are to protect RV owners’ rights by attempting to work with dealers and manufacturers and create policies which help RV consumers get RVs under warranty repaired in a timely and convenient manner. “Perhaps most important point, is for us to maximize the quality control of newly manufactured RVs prior to delivery to the RV dealerships in order to minimize warranty and voidable warranty issues,” states the RVACA website, www.rvaca.org
