As the 2020 episode of Thanksgiving approaches, you’ve no doubt experienced one of the most unusual years of your life. The Coronavirus pandemic or 2020 has thrown most of our lives into an unexpected and chaotic stretch of time.
The pandemic is expected to continue causing disruption moving forward, the third wave projected to be the most significant yet. Businesses that haven’t taken measures to address the first and second waves, are no doubt thinking of this upcoming wave.
RV’S AS OFFICES
Most working Americans have adapted to work during a pandemic. But you’d be surprised how many of our American peers have converted their RV’s into offices!
In an article in the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the topic of RV-to Office conversion addressed the needs of American roadtrippers to make their accommodations a mobile office.
“Work from home is now one of the big boxes that product development has to check when they’re considering a new product,” said Brian Hazelton, vice president at Winnebago.
WE ARE DIGITAL NOMADS
The article states that up to 40% of RV purchase inquiries ask about the ability to use their vehicle as an office. So many inquires have poured in that a new name has been created for them: “Digital Nomads”.
Airstream’s CEO Bob Wheeler says “It’s not overkill,” Wheeler said. “You don’t need a 5-foot-wide slab [desk] in your travel trailer, but we find that when we talk to people about the option to have this area where they can set up and leave their work set up, and still live in the rest of the trailer, that’s really appealing.”
