Story by Timothy J Kruse

Purchased a brand new 2018 Heartland Pioneer in May of 2018 from Camping World.
Noticed an extremely soft floor inside the bedroom in April of 2019. The camper was covered from October-March
Scheduled an appointment with Camping World to get in and look at the problem, which was scheduled for one month after the original call because Camping World was that ‘booked up’. We called the day before our appointment to confirm the drop off time. They had lost our reservation and could not take the unit the next day. They then told us they couldn’t get us in again until July, which was out of the one year warranty period with the manufacturer.
Their initial inspection cost $400+ to ‘inspect’ the unit for a leak, which took 3 weeks. Camping World explained that a proper leak test is very expensive and that it’s not advised. They also told us they had patched the leak they had found, but not fixed the floor.
They estimated the repair hours and materials at $6,000 to fix the floor, but explained the estimate would have to stay open and may go up.
We called the manufacturer who suggested another shop to get an estimate.
When we arrived at the second shop, they physically showed us THREE separate leaks… So they had not all been found, and certainly not repaired.
The new shop estimated our fix at less than ONE THIRD of the cost Camping World had quoted, and complete in two weeks time.
We will NEVER step foot in Camping World again, they are worthless. I am interested in the volume of these reports you receive, as I’m sure it will be high.
