Who Doesn’t Love a Romantic Camping Trip?

Who Doesn’t Love a Romantic Camping Trip?

Camping and romance are the perfect pairing

Whoever said that camping couldn’t be romantic? We think a nice, romantic camping trip is a great way to get to know another person or to rekindle the spark of romance. It makes you depend on one another and removes the distractions of our busy lives. Nature can be harsh, but every bit of it is filled with wonder. Cuddling up to the one you care about and listening to the song of a whippoorwill, the call of birds in the morning, or the lonesome howl of a wolf in the distance is all it takes. Well, not exactly all it takes. These tips can help you step up your camping trip and make it as romantic as possible.

Make the entire tent one giant bed

Nothing says romance like cuddling up together and keeping warm against the chill of the night. You can achieve maximum romance by making the floor of the tent into a giant bed for two. This can be done with an air mattress, a memory foam mattress cover spread with blankets, an inflatable mattress, or even an inflatable mattress cot if you don’t want to lay directly on the ground.

A little illumination

You don’t need a lot, just an ambiance. In fact, an ambiance of light is much more romantic than a spotlight. You can use fairy lights around the area, a lantern, or even LED lights to string about the campsite. For added romance, string lights around the inside of the tent, or get battery powered candles to have a romantic, candlelit evening without the fire hazard.

Beverages

There are many ways you can add drinks to the evening whether you bring a bottle of your favorite wine, or you buy a portable iced beverage machine to make margaritas. A good idea is to bring metal or plastic cups with you, so you don’t have to worry about cleaning up broken glass. The rustic look of metal cups will just add a better touch to the evening.

Activities

How long will the camping trip last? If it’s more than one day, then plan activities you both like. If you both enjoy hiking, find a spot with a lot of great trails you can check out and enjoy together. Pack a great picnic and find a spot along the way to hunker down for a late lunch or early dinner. Pack foods you know your partner loves and score even more romance points.

Showering

If you’re spending more than a day at your campsite, you may want to consider bringing along a portable shower. Nothing kills romance like poor hygiene. Portable showers have been upgraded, and now you can even get hot water varieties, so you don’t have to suffer through cold showers. Being out in nature means your shower can be big enough to fit two, just remember the environmental-friendly soap, so your romance doesn’t turn into horror for the local ecology.

Make a killer playlist

Similar to the mixtapes of old, playlists can set the mood and truly show your significant other how you feel about them and what kind of music you enjoy. If your taste in music is different than theirs, you can share why you like a specific song or genre. Figure out what music and songs they like and add a few of them as well. Let them return the favor and explain why it’s their favorite.

Show them your culinary skills

Plan a great dinner you can make over an open fire. Try something new you think you’d both enjoy or a fusion of your favorite cuisines. Food brings us all together and preparing the meal can bring you together as well. If you’re planning to cook, make sure you have all the essential gear you need and that you’ve taken into consideration proper temperature to store your foods at.

Take some time to stare at the stars

Who doesn’t love staring up at the stars at night? Gaze out into the universe that shelters our Earth and contemplate all that lays outside our atmosphere. Brush up on your astronomy and delight them with your knowledge of constellations, how they were named, and any other lore or fun facts you can find about your favorite ones. Staring up at the stars helps relax us and open our minds. It’s great for deeper conversation and a better understanding of one another.

Camping is a great way to get to know yourself and others. If you don’t camp that often, it’s also a great way to get out of your comfort zone. If you have a romantic camping story you’d like to share with our community, feel free to submit it to The RV Advisor! We’d love to hear it.
